Attention Self Pub Authors What's Your Opinion?

Hello Lovelies,

I'm seriously considering the idea of providing formatting services to self-pubbed authors. I learned a lot over the last few years regarding the different publishing sites as well as just running my own blog and website.

Although I enjoyed the learning experience, and am lucky enough to be surrounded by a lot of tech savvy individuals who allowed me to pick their brains at times, I know that not everyone is that lucky. And even if they are they may not want the hassle and would prefer to outsource the whole issue to some one else to deal with.

The services I was thinking of were book formatting for Amazon, BnB, Smashwords and providing all of the formats that are available for ARe. authors send me their manuscript and I send them back all of the necessary formats of they'll need to self-pub. Of course there will always be a confidentiality agreement, for peace of mind for both parties involved.

This is an idea I've been thinking about for some time now and really think it might be time to give it a go. Any opinions?

Talk to you soon,

  1. Yes, I think it's a good idea. Took me ages to work things out and couldn't have done without the help of Martin Johnson (@johnson_mjj) ,who I didn't even know before twitter. Anyone who hates techno stuff would welcome your service

    1. Thanks for the feedback! Yes I spent a ridiculous amount of time figuring out the process myself, and in hindsight would have much rather used that time to focus on my writing. Since I've posted this topic several of my writing friends have responded on par with you, so I've gone ahead and set up Winged Styles ( for anyone interested in my services.

  2. Laurel, this would be a wonderful service and would be interested in being informed in more detail as you get your service set up. I do however have much learning to do before I am able to send my manuscripts off to be published in any format.

I am currently working three novel manuscripts and I have an editor that I have been working with on my fiction novel. It is always good to bounce ideas off others who have experience so thank you and as I stated keep me informed.

    1. Hey there and good luck! I know how grueling the process of getting manuscripts done and ready can be. As I mentioned in the comment above I've gone ahead and set up the service, so feel free to visit the site ( and contact me when you're ready to get started :)
