Yesterday I was so excited about writing new pages for my book that I forgot to mention one very important piece of information! Before you sit down to start your book, for whatever genre, you should always be aware of the industry standards for your manuscript. You don't want to complete your entire book then get stuck looking up manuscript formatting standards when all you really want to do is send out your query letters (after a good edit of course), and get yourself an agent. You also don't want to write 150,000 words only to learn that the accepted standard for your genre is 80,000. When it comes to writing knowledge, it seems, isn't just power it's a sanity saver!
