Casual Smex Friday with Keshia Robertson!

Hello All,

Welcome to the first Casal Smex Friday of the new year! I know it's been a while and you're all hurting for some yummy smex but for the newbies on the block here's a quick breakdown. On Casual Smex Friday you’re encouraged to sit back, relax and get smexy. Remember that Smex day posts consist of the following four segments:

1.) The Quickie- For those of you who only have time for some quick relief.

2.) The Afternoon Delight- For the reader who wants a little foreplay before smexing.

3.) The Midnight Grind-For those of you who want to go beyond foreplay and get to main show.

4.) The After Glow Strut- For those of you not afraid to show your love and go for another round.

Today I’m bringing you an interview with the sweetly smexy Keshia Robertson. So close the drapes (or not, depending on what you’re into) and let’s get the smexing started!

The Quickie…

Name: Keshia Robertson

Stats: With homage to our favourite romantic comedies of the 90s, Keshia Robertson writes fresh sensual to erotic contemporary romance with a multicultural twist. When she isn't crafting stories of sexy heroes and witty heroines you can find her on twitter @startswithakesh or on her website discussing her preferred writing techniques or the latest episode of a Korean drama.

Latest Release: Just As Good

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Just As Good Blurb: Evan Hermes traded in romance for pragmatism when he suggested marriage at their New Year's Eve party to his girlfriend Kitt Preston. It was a “suggestion” which wasn’t well received by the love of his life. Though it’s taken him most of the year to figure out the perfect proposal, this time romance is front and center to obtain a yes!

Kitt has been in love with Evan ever since he asked her out during their first year of college. Tall, handsome, and a family man, Evan is the kind of person that most women would be falling over themselves to marry…but not her. Kitt is only willing to say yes to a marriage proposal that is worthy of their love and years together.

Smex Quotient: This one is definitely sugar and spice and everything nice! You'll be tempted to turn your casual booty call into a long all night romp of smexy naughtiness!

The Afternoon Delight…

Kitt and Evan are so cute together! The book begins with them several years into their relationship. What made you decide to begin "Just As Good" at that point in their relationship?

I was always really interested in what happens after the “happily ever” part of romance books but until that point, I only wrote about two people who just met. For “Just As Good” I wanted characters who were in a scenario that a couple could relate to. Especially over the holidays with too much of reality working into their couple-dom but of course romance fighting back for a win.

I loved the relaxed banter Kitt and Evan have with each other and that you set their story in the midst of family gatherings. Being surrounded by family isn't usually romantic, but you somehow made it work and work quite well might I add. Why did you decide to set it up this way?

After knowing each other for so long (since college) I pictured Evan and Kitt to be the kind of couple who reacted the same to each other anywhere and would be able to get the sparks flying even with the family inside the cottage as well *laughs* so they are kind of a frisky couple. Plus Evan's family jumped off the page with their attempts to engagement plan so I wanted them along for the ride as well.

Kitt delivers a great line in the book, "You must really like my messy," after Evan reveals that he loves her in all of her complexity. *SIGH* This couple is just all sorts of sigh worthy sweet and sexy. How do you go about reaching that balance when you write romance?

I mostly go with my gut when it comes to that sweet-sexy balance in drafting up a story and try to create those moments as much as I can while still being authentic to the couple and where they are in their relationship.

If this couple participated in Casual Smex Friday, what segment do you think they's like the most? The Quickie, Afternoon Delight or Midnight Grind?

I would have to say Midnight Grind for this frisky couple. They would definitely would enjoy the sexy excerpt foreplay.

The men in Evan's family sound both sexy and hilarious. Do they/will they have stories of their own? If so please list them so I can crush accordingly!

I loved the Hermes men as well and they basically came to life of their own accord with the sibling banter. I don’t have stories planned out for them in concrete yet but I’m definitely not saying goodbye to them.

The Midnight Grind…

There's nothing sexier than two people who've known each other long enough to make the smexing and loving last. So pull down those shades and put on some slow jams. This sweet and spicey couple will have you begging for more so get ready because here's a smexy excerpt for your reading pleasure...

4 days before Christmas

A second chance for Evan to propose felt about as miraculous as Santa Claus standing in the middle of his living room with an inheritance grand enough for him, Kitt, and their future children’s children to each share comfortably.

As a grown man, it was kind of silly to believe in things such as the miracle of the holidays, but even after discovering Santa’s nonexistence at the age of eight just as his mother lost her battle to cancer, he still saved some hope for Santa during the holidays.

Kitt had left the house that week to spend it helping her mother and stepfather get ready for their trip to Barbados. Evan shivered before pressing the doorbell to Kitt’s parent’s house. She had been the friend he lusted over for a greater part of first year until he confessed to her and they became a couple. He would forgive Santa for allowing people to say that he was someone who didn’t exist if the old man had his back for just this one holiday. He wanted to make it a Christmas that Kitt wouldn’t be able to forget.

Kitt opened the door with a large pink suitcase rolling behind her.

“Are you immigrating to my parent’s cottage?” he asked.

Evan smiled at her as Kitt stuck her tongue out at him. He knew her to be a person who traveled only after packing half of her closet even if it was just for a day.

“I always win your parents and brothers over with my runway model wardrobe,” Kitt teased. “And you know I have a lot of hair products.”

“I would figure,” he said.

Her thick, curly hair formed small spirals around her shoulders. It had been their first source of conversation after Kitt asked to stand under his umbrella on the first day of university classes. He had looked down at the shorter girl beside him seeing only curls, large glasses, and flawless brown skin before he decided that he had fallen for her.

He reached for her suitcase. “I’ll take that.”

“Ah…holding doors and carrying all of the heavy things…” she said. “Good boyfriend.”

She turned to lock her front door and then walked to his car. The word “boyfriend” was appearing in a grateful afterthought in her sentences. If he had done more than suggest marriage, he would be called “future husband” sweetly instead.
